"Jazz does not belong to one race or culture.
It's a gift that America gave the world."
- Ahmad Alaadeen

East End Jazz, in collaboration with the Southampton Cultural Center, is thrilled to announce the launch of a new monthly jazz jam session. The "East Meets West Jazz Jam Session" is a free event designed to bring musicians and music lovers together from across the community.
The series kicks off on Sunday, October 5th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Southampton Cultural Center,
located at 25 Pond Lane in Southampton. The sessions will continue on the first Sunday of every month.
The event will feature a special 30-minute performance by a quartet led by guitarist Peter Watrous. The house band for the day includes Jane Hastay on piano, Peter Watrous on guitar, Iris Ornig on bass, and Brian Woodruff on drums.
The jam session is open to everyone—musicians of all skill levels, vocalists, and music enthusiasts. All are welcome to participate or simply come and listen.
East End Jazz partnered with the Bridgehampton Child Care Center, offering "Music, Movement & Jazz" workshops to summer campers and bringing them a fun-filled experience of creativity and improvisation.
East End Jazz is partnering with the Southampton Youth Bureau in Flanders to launch a weekly workshop for our youth starting in January 2025! Our program is dedicated to empowering young musicians by offering essential music education, workshops, and performance opportunities. Together, we will build stronger communities through the vibrant sounds of jazz, creativity, and improvisation. We are excited to create a dynamic and inclusive environment that will foster the growth of our young talents.
